Elvire Emanuelle is an artist and writer born of Haitian immigrants and best recognized for her leading role as Mo in the acclaimed South by Southwest award-winning, Netflix film, FIRST MATCH opposite Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jharrel Jerome and Colman Domingo. Elvire's upcoming new feature film, KEMBA, was featured at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival with a special impactful filmmaking panel and on CNN. It's releasing on February 22nd.

 

KEMBA, based on the significant true story of Kemba Smith, is directed by SXSW and Student Academy awarded Director, Kelley Kali, (LALO'S HOUSE, I'M FINE (THANKS FOR ASKING)). FIRST MATCH was written and directed by Olivia Newman (WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING) and produced by Bryan Unkeless (I, TONYA, HUNGER GAMES), Chanelle Elaine (COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS) and Veronica Nickel (MOONLIGHT). It received wide positive response from audiences and press such as Deadline the Los Angeles Times and New York Times.

 

Elvire is a first time writer of the screenplay FINDING, a story about a girl who has the audacity to dream despite her odds. She is known for her belief in the transformative power of storytelling and views acting not just as a profession but as a duty and a necessity, emphasizing the role of stories in teaching us about ourselves, others and life.  She trained with renowned acting teacher Wynn Handman in New York City.
